What is NPI Profile?

NPI Profile is the top reference website for up-to-date National Provider Identifier (NPI) information about healthcare providers in the United States. Following the adoption of the NPI Final Rule in January of 2004 all healthcare providers covered under HIPAA are issued by the NPI enumerator a unique identifying number (NPI) as a new standard for healthcare provider identification.

NPI numbers are issued and managed by National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). NPI information is made available per the Data Dissemination Notice which covers disclosable health care provider data under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and in accordance with the e-FOIA amendments.

NPI Profile sources and updates its information periodically with the latest official NPPES and CMS data. Our site is an online platform that aggregates not only NPI information but also PECOS, CLIA and Medicare information to provide our users a comprehensive view of healthcare providers. Since the year 2015 our team of healthcare IT professionals has been constantly working and improving our free tools and features to provide a better user experience.
